HIDDEN PEACE - A Caring Facility For Young Adults
The Story Of Tanya Brooks
In 2006 Karen Met Tanya and her family. They instantly clicked and Tanya hired her as her personal care giver. Soon after that they became best friends and were inseparable. After a year and a half Tanya and her husband Tim were beginning to realize the emotional and financial strain that Tanya's medical needs having on them. That’s when the three of them decided to brainstorm ideas on how to keep Tanya out of a nursing home. While they were doing this they thought about how many middle-aged adults were being forced into nursing home because there is no home specialized for them. They decided they didn't want this for Tanya and wanted to help keep others like her out of the nursing homes. The only way to do this was to open a home specializing in middle-aged adult in wheelchairs. They decided to call it Hidden Peace. Tanya Passed away on February 26, 2009, twenty days before Hidden Peace got licensed. Her dream was to keep people like her, people with good minds and bad bodies, together and that’s what we are here for.
Our staff wouldn't be complete without the inspiration of our beloved Tanya Brooks. Her vision to create this unique home for others like her will live on with her memory.
